Korodel Languages

Olish

The most prominent language found on the surface of the First Continent. Because of its wide spread usage it acts as the defacto spoken language. It resembles a something similar to the English language.

Olish is spoken commonly by Humans, Half-Desh, Brondesh and Shadeskin.

Bronk

A guttural, and heavily context based language that is native to the Brondesh.

Shadetounge

An elegant language that has a raspy complex nature.

Is the spoken language of the Shadeskin.

Keshic

The language spoken by those within the walls of Kelus.

Keshic is said to be a very hard language to learn, making it even harder for foreigners entering the city to fit in.

The language itself stems closely from Oshic.

Eldershade (Dusk-Tounge)

An ancient language primarily used by the Proto-Shade.

Dusk-Tounge, was the first language to be spoken in Abyssus. After the Proto-Shade where sealed away in the vault, only the oldest Shadeskin where able to speak and understand the language after being aided somewhat by Lunlin. Because of this the language would later be known as Eldershade. Because of its complexity, Eldershade has become more of a written language with its spoken language fading into obscurity to those not sealed away.

Eldershade in present times is only found written within old scrolls and tomes found within the ancient libraries of Abyssus and understood by Abyssus scholars that wish to maintain and continue studying Shade Arts.

Shade Arts, due to their most prominent users being proto-shade, find their most important documents written in Eldershade. Shade Sigils still require the knowledge of Eldershade, as the names needed within rituals require the them to be written in Eldershade. Additionally without some understanding of Eldershade, The Shade Evocation Technique Tombs are illegible.

Deshic (Prime Desh)

The Primary language of the Desh before and partially during the war against their people.

The written form follows its spoken flowing nature by forming vertical rectangular sentences out of a series of strung together characters.

These writings can still be found in plenty within the the runes the Desh left behind, namely found in the The Western Isle and The Ashen Groves.

Oshic (Beta Desh)

The Language which eventually devolved into Olish and Keshic. Oshic is the Primary Language of The Second Continent.

Oshic can be written both vertically and horizontally and shares some similarities to Deshic, the language it stemmed from.

Similarly to Deshic, Oshic can be found in ruins that where constructed to house Desh in the later half of the war against them.

Written in books, engraved in walls, or found in murals, Oshic became the preferred language of the Desh during the later war period. This could be because of its simpler written form, with more identifiable and diverse characters it was easier to transcribe. However it is also possible that the change was to try and temporarily prevent the Proto-Shade forces understanding their plans after their strongholds where raided.

After the some of the surviving Desh where able to settle on The Second Continent, it naturally became the spoken language to the people that would later claim the lands there.
